Affordable Car Hire, Flexiblecarhire.com, and online travel agency P&P Associates have made legal agreements to make car rental quotes more transparent, following a move by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), a watchdog association, reports the Daily Mail.
The CMA found that a number of car rental websites based outside of the United Kingdom offered low quotes to customers, and added charges for fuel, maintenance, and insurance after booking.
According to the UK European Consumer Centre, consumer complaints increased 35.6% across the board from March 2017 to February 2018.
