The San Antonio International Airport’s master plan, approved by the San Antonio city council on March 31, 2011, includes plans for a consolidated rental car facility (conrac), but aviation directors are first looking to pass a facility fee to get the project moving, according to airport spokesperson Rich Johnson.
Johnson said that the city council was briefed on the subject last week, and that the next step is to get the proposed fee of $4.50 per rental day on the city council agenda. He added that it could take three to five years to get through the planning, financing, development and construction phases of the conrac.
