Avis in India Doubles Its Bookings in 2011

According the The Globe and Mail, Avis reported twice as many auto rental bookings in 2011, which took in about 10,000 for the company. Tourists made up 40% of the rental car transactions.

Avis has 17 locations and 1,400 vehicles in India, according to the article, which cites better roads and GPS navigation as contributing factors for the increase of foreigners choosing to rent a car.
