Avis in Israel Offers iPad2 with Car Rental
Avis customers traveling in Israel can add-on an iPad 2 with their rental, which includes Internet access and GPS.
Avis Israel has announced that it will be providing an option to rent an iPad 2 to rental car customers, according to a Jan. 16 press release. The tablet computer comes with unlimited Wi-Fi connectivity and included GPS for $16 per day.
The service is currently available at Ben Gurion Airport, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv branches and will soon be available throughout all of Avis’ 28 Israel branches.
Rather than paying for hotel Internet connections or renting a GPS, customers can receive both for one flat rate when renting the iPad2. The device also allows for use of Skype, email, Facebook and other Internet applications from anywhere in the country.
So far, feedback has been positive, the company said in the release.
“I never used an iPad before, but decided to try it while here for a wedding, since Avis was offering it at a reasonable daily rate,” said Susan Cohen, a visitor from London. “I was pleasantly surprised by how much I was able to accomplish without having to pay for expensive internet connections as I usually do when in Israel, not to mention that the GPS is integrated in the iPad.”
