Few Residents in Japan Report Using Car Sharing
In the survey of more than 2,000 people, only 1.1% said they had every used car sharing.
According to an Aug. 26 article from Japan’s Daily Traffic News, in a questionnaire survey about car sharing, conducted by Life Media Co., few people in Japan report using car sharing.
The survey was targeted at people who have a driver’s license and are over the age of 18. Of those surveyed, 1,247 people were men and 1,040 were women.
Here are the questions and pooled responses:
1. Have you used car sharing?
In total, 1.1 % said that they have used car sharing. (Men, 1.4 %; Women 0.9%)
2. I have not used it, but want to use it in future.
In total, 24.7 % of respondents want to use it in future. (Men, 28%; Women, 20.8%)
3. I have not used it and do not want to use it in the future.
In total, 58.8% said they did not plan to use car sharing. (Men, 57.5%; Women is 60.4%)
In addition to the questionnaire, the study found that 15% of people did not know about car sharing.
