Avis, Europcar, Sixt Receive Top Honors in World Travel Awards
The World Travel Awards (WTA) recognizes the most popular travel and tourism brands worldwide. The awards were announced at its Grand Final Gala Ceremony in New Delhi, India on Dec. 12.
The World Travel Awards (WTA) recognized the most popular travel and tourism brands in the world at its Grand Final Gala Ceremony in New Delhi, India on Dec. 12.
Europcar received the award for World’s Leading Car Rental (“Hire") for the fifth year in a row. Other nominees for the award were: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National and Sixt. The company was also recognized as the World's Leading Green Transport Solution Company — again since 2010.
For the ninth consecutive year, Europcar was also honored as the World's Leading Leisure Car Rental Company. Other nominees in this category included: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Holiday Autos and Sixt.
For the leading luxury car rental company, Avis Prestige won the award against nominees Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car, Churchill Supercars, Luxury Rent A Car, Prestige Car Hire and Sports Car Hire.
The award for the World's Leading Premium Car Rental Company went to Sixt for the first time. Alamo, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz Prestige Car Rental and Thrifty Prestige Car Rental were among the other nominees for the award.
Avis was recognized as the World's Leading Business Car Rental Company. This is the seventh consecutive year Avis has received the award. Other nominees in the category were Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt.
The World Travel Awards aims at raising the standards of customer service and overall business performance throughout the international tourism industry.
