Austin, Texas-based Silvercar launched its operation at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), according to a Dec. 27 press release. Silvercar’s fleet of 2013 Audi A4s will be available for customers to rent beginning Jan. 14, but the company is now accepting advanced car rental bookings.

Travelers can book reservations through the Silvercar app, online or through travel management companies.

According to Silvercar, DFW will offer a shuttle service to the car rental facility for Silvercar customers where they can select and unlock a vehicle, and receive their receipt from their smartphone.

Renters’ contact, payment and personal preference information will be stored in a Silvercar profile. Customers will be able to sync their preferences including itinerary destinations to their in-vehicles multimedia interface after unlocking the vehicle.

All vehicles are equipped with Google Earth GPS navigation, Sirius/XM satellite radio and a toll tag at no additional charge.

The Silvercar app is available for download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Customers who do not book in advance can still book a reservation after setting up a user profile at a self-serve kiosk or with on-site concierges.
