Car-Sharing Company WhipCar Grows Fleet to Over 300 Cars
The U.K.-based peer-to-peer car-sharing service allows private car owners to rent out their vehicles to eligible drivers in their local area.
Since its launch in April, WhipCar, a peer-to-peer car-sharing service, has increased its fleet to over 300 vehicles and 40 different makes.
"We are delighted with the uptake and very pleased with the number of different makes of car now available," says Tom Wright, co-founder of WhipCar.
With WhipCar, private car owners can rent out their cars for money to eligible drivers looking for a close, convenient and affordable way to rent them. The site connects those looking to rent a car with car owners in their local area that have spare car time.
WhipCar members currently can rent vehicles in Bournemouth, Bristol, Nottingham and dozens of other U.K. locations.
Car owners on the service get to set their own price for hourly, daily or weekly car rental. Owners are notified by text and e-mail when there is an approved driver in their area who wants to rent their vehicle.
All cars and drivers are screened by WhipCar before a booking is completed. Every hire is covered by a Lloyds of London insurance policy.
