After renting a car from Boston’s Logan International Airport, the renters discover a 4-foot python snake in the trunk once arriving at a hotel in Kennebunk, Maine, according to a report by the Portland Press Herald.

The two women didn’t notice anything in the trunk when they picked up the rental vehicle in Boston, says the report. Police officers responded to the call.

“They were pretty shaken up,” Kennebunk Deputy Police Chief Dan Jones told the Portland Press Herald. “They wanted a new rental car even after we removed the snake.”

Police officers turned the ball python over to the Maine Warden Service, says the report. The non-poisonous ball python is native to Africa but common in the U.S. as pets.
