car2go to Expand in Seattle
The Seattle City Council approved a plan to expand the car sharing operation by allowing more vehicle permits and in more areas of the city.
According to local broadcast station Kiro 7, the Seattle City Council approved a proposal to expand the car2go car sharing program in addition to the fleet's current 330 smart fortwo vehicles.
The proposal gives car2go another 150 permits to park the vehicles around the Seattle, and also moves the "home area" for operations to more areas of the city.
The service reportedly includes more than 18,000 members in the Seattle area.
