With the recent launch of the “e-car” club, London now has an electric car-sharing program, according to a report by the London Evening Standard.

The e-car club is similar to other car-sharing programs, but members rent eco-friendly cars and don’t have to pay for fuel. Rental prices start at 5.50 pounds per hour or 45 pounds per day, says the report.

Before e-car club is expanded nationwide, it will only be open to customers in the London borough of Tower Hamlets. Initially, the program is starting with two Renault Zoes and two Fluence saloons, but the fleet is expected to increase to 20 vehicles by the end of the year, says the report.

“The e-car mission is a simple, if ambitious, one,” E-car Club Co-Founder Christopher Morris told the London Evening Standard. “We want to improve mobility on a local level while reducing both the cost and environmental impact of each journey taken.”
