Getaround Expands to Chicago

Getaround launched its car sharing service in Chicago on Sept. 20, making Chicago Getaround’s first city east of the Mississippi.

Since Getaround's launch in San Francisco in May 2011, the company has grown to include three additional cities, quadrupled its staff and raised $13.9 million in Series A funding. In addition, Getaround launched Getaway, a service that gives car owners a chance to rent their car while they are not using it for an extended period of time.
