Following the success of its launch in Milan, car2go plans to expand its car-sharing service to Rome, according to a report by Wanted in Rome.

Beginning this month, car2go will initially roll out with 500 smart fortwo cars that can be rented from locations throughout Rome, later increasing to a total of 600 in its fleet, according to the report. Additionally, a 24/7-call center will be available to help users.

Currently, Rome has a car-sharing program with only 130 vehicles and 3,000 registered users, says the report.
