Avis Budget Named to Top Women’s Business Enterprises
For the 15th consecutive year, Avis Budget Group has appeared on the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council’s (WBENC) list of America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises.
The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has named Avis Budget Group as one of America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs). Avis Budget is one of only five companies that have appeared on this list for each of the last 15 years, says the company.
This list honors corporations for their supplier diversity programs that reduce barriers and drive growth for women’s business enterprises. Avis has been recognized each since it launched its supplier diversity program, according to the company.
“Diversity is a critical component of any business, but at Avis Budget Group, it’s a key element in the way we conduct business on a daily basis,” said Ronald L. Nelson, chairman and CEO of Avis Budget Group. “We value the role that diversity among our employees, suppliers and partners plays in our success, and we're proud to be recognized once again for our hard work and dedication.”
Avis was one of 51 U.S. companies named to the annual list for 2014. Other companies include Chevron, General Mills, General Motors Co., PepsiCo Inc. and UPS.
