Launched on the App Store this month, Carla’s mobile app will recommend personalized car rentals for users based on their travel needs.

Similar to the tinder dating app, Carla users can swipe cards to choose the rental car that fits them, according to the company.

The Carla app doesn’t feature the tabular format of cars listed one after another. Instead, the app allows users to see one car at a time, says the company.

Carla is available in 20,000 locations and 150 countries worldwide. Users can compare rental cars from 850 companies, including major car rental companies such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, National, Sixt, Hertz, Alamo, Thrifty and Europcar, says the company. It offers several car makes and models.

The app provides best price/performance options, and it allows users to view upcoming and past trips, says the company.

DO NOT USE CARLA! I'm filing complaints with Apple about this app and I hope it gets removed from the App Store. I am one of the horrible reviews on the App Store. They are very, very shady, if not criminal!

I booked a car, had to change the date, and since there's no "modify reservation" button, I cancelled the review. This was done within an hour of the original booking. They charged me a $25 cancellation fee. So I decided not to rebook through them. THEY STILL HAVE NOT REFUNDED MY MONEY!

They were offering rates that were not available at the airport. I went to all the car rental counters, and they were booked out of all lower rates even though Carla app was still going to allow me to book at that rate! The car companies cannot help with your reservation whatsoever since it's done through the third party.

Their customer service has no phone number, the "chat" online doesn't have anyone monitoring it, and the email I received from their "customer service" looked like it came from a personal email. Now, no one will respond to me. I CANNOT GET MY MONEY BACK because they don't answer me. Even though I cancelled well within their cancellation period AND they charged me a cancellation fee!!!

The business isn't well set professionally and looks illegitimate. The money is sent internationally, so that makes me think it would be more difficult to track and get back as it is a foreign operation. I'm convinced most of their positive reviews are posted by them. They don't seem real. And when they update the app, the old negative reviews (of which there are MANY) are hidden. Many people have review claiming to have been swindled like I was or in different ways!

JUST DON'T USE CARLA. I really hope my experience can get this app shut down and save people from losing money and ruining their vacations.

I used Carla several times without any problem. I saved over $300. :) I believe the reviews above are misleading. They were probably written by competitors. When you read the reviews, they contradict by themselves. It's pathetic to see people complaining about the service provider.

This APP and company are a JOKE! After booking a cruise, I went to the AppStore to search for car rental apps. One of the first that popped up was Carla. I downloaded the app and began searching. I was only needing a one day rental prior and a one day rental following the cruise. Their prices were not bad. I booked both rentals through the app. That part was pretty seamless. Fast-forward 2 months. I arrive at MCO (Orlando) and Carla booked me a vehicle through Budget. Usually use Sixt or National, but was no big deal. Stood in line for over 1.5 hours waiting at Budget, but that's a different concern for another time. Anyways, once finally arriving at the counter, I give them my confirmation number provided by Carla. I give it to them, and the agent asks for my DL. I provided it to the agent, and was told it was NOT valid for my booking. Carla ended up booking my reservation as if I was a Russian occupant and was told I needed to provide a Russian DL to receive the rate I was quoted, and if I did not provide such proper identification, I would have to pay an additional $185 on top of the $65 I had already paid for the one day rental. OUTRAGEOUS! So I attempt to get in contact with Carla, which was delayed and pathetic was of communication. A customer service number is non-existent, and their email replies took DAYS. I did not receive a reply from them until 4 days into my cruise, and the reply that I did receive, was a very generic and basic reply, and address none of the concerns brought forward to them. They were of ZERO assistance. After dealing with ever member of management possible on the phone with Budget while standing at the Budget counter, a Supervisor finally decided to grant me the rate. He cancelled the booking I had made with Carla, rebooked while I was standing on the phone with a US DL, and credited the account from my prepayment. Thankfully he was able to do something, because it was obvious the pathetic excuse of customer service from Carla wasnt going to do anything, nor was the sad service from Budget at the counter. So fast forward to the next day. I drop said vehicle off in Port Canaveral. I had some extra time prior to the shuttle to the ship, so I decided to check my other reservation with them, since that was the location I would be retrieving my other vehicle once back on land. I proved them the provided reservation number from Carla, and low and behold, it was another reservation number that was linked to a Russian resident. Thankfully, that location in Port Canaveral was NOT a corporate location, and was individually owned, and it was no problem for the manager to fix it there, and even apologized for the the inconvenience, along with the lack of service provided at the MCO location, which neither was any of her doing or in her control. I was very appreciative and impressed wit hthe customer service and that location. However, the use of this Carla App conduced a far larger headache in the process of renting a car than the few dollars it saved. I will NEVER use this app again. EVER, and I hope eventually the App Store, as well as the companies disassociate themselves with this app.
