Thrifty Car Rental, part of The Hertz Global Holdings Inc. (NYSE:HTZ), continues to expand its global footprint with its launch in Thailand.

Thrifty Thailand is now open in Bangkok Downtown (Sathorn Rd.) and Pattaya Downtown (North Pattaya Rd.). Seven additional airport locations are planned for 2016.

Thrifty's locations in Thailand are strategically placed in relevant urban areas to satisfy the mobility needs of local customers and international travelers alike, says the company.

The Thrifty brand launched in Thailand following an extended agreement between Hertz and its franchise partner Paragon Car Rental Co., Ltd., which has been operating Hertz in Thailand since 2003. Future planned openings for 2016 include the Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok), Don Mueang International Airport (Bangkok), Chiang Mai International Airport, Chiang Rai International Airport, Phuket International Airport, and Samui International Airport as well as Khon Kaen Airport.

"It is truly exciting for us to see Thrifty's expansion to Thailand,” said Michel Taride, Group President, Hertz International. “Already a much sought-after destination by millions of international travelers every year, the addition of low-cost airline routes to Thailand is expected to drive even further growth potential for the Thrifty brand. With its high standard of service, our longstanding franchise partner Paragon Car Rental Co., Ltd. is ideally positioned to serve not only international visitors, but also domestic customers seeking convenience, value and service."

Thrifty Car Rental started its expansion to Asia last year. The company also operates in Singapore, Malaysia, and Philippines.

"After having successfully operated Hertz Thailand for 13 years, we are now ready to step forward, with an additional exciting adventure by launching Thrifty Thailand,” said Khun Chartchai Panichewa, executive board chairman, Paragon Car Rental Co., Ltd. “Embracing Hertz's multi-brand strategy will help us expand our market and target additional customer segments. We are looking forward to welcoming customers to Thrifty Thailand as we grow the brand's footprint across the country."
