Public transit commuters in Baltimore now have the option to use a Zipcar to reach their final destination thanks to a partnership with the car-sharing network and Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA).
Fifteen Zipcars are set to be added at eight Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink, and MARC Train stations for on-demand vehicle access, and can be reserved for one hour or up to seven days.
Those who want to use a Zipcar can reserve one online and pick it up at one of the following MDOT MTA stations:
Light RailLink
Mount Washington
North Avenue
Metro SubwayLink
Mondawmin
MARC Train
Dorsey
Halethorpe
Laurel
Odenton
West Baltimore
Zipcar reservation costs include gas, maintenance, insurance, and 180-miles of driving.
To use a Zipcar, commuters must fill out an online application. Once approved, members can use Zipcars around the world.
