North Carolina Transit Tax to Begin April 1

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Despite opposition from local car rental operators, a local transportation board last week approved a 5% tax on all car rental transactions in North Carolina's Forsyth and Guilford counties. The tax will help fund commuter rail and bus transit projects overseen by the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation.
