PARK RIDGE, N.J. -- Hertz reported a first quarter loss of $48 million. In comparison, the company lost $4 million in the first quarter of 2001.
According to Ford Motor Co.'s quarterly report, the Hertz loss was attributable to lower rental volume arising from the travel slump.
