WILMINGTON, Del. -- A federal bankruptcy court judge in August ruled that National Car Rental must give up its naming rights for the Florida Panthers' arena. According to the Panthers' organization, the leading contender to replace National is Office Depot.

ANC had hoped to retain its moniker on the arena -- at a discounted price. Earlier this month, the company filed a motion requesting to keep naming rights at a cost of $1.25 million a year with minor price increases. But the 10-year naming-rights contract, signed in 1998, called for ANC to pay $2.2 million per year.
