Avis' Third-Quarter Revenue Up

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Cendant Corp. announced that Avis' revenue for the third quarter totaled $715.19 million. In comparison, third-quarter revenue for 2001 totaled $657.9 million.

Avis sold 16.6 million rental days in the quarter, compared to the 16.3 million sold in the same period last year. However, the average length of rental days per transaction was 3.94, compared to 4.02 in 2001's third quarter.

Avis is part of Cendant's vehicle services segment.
