TULSA, Okla. -- Thrifty Car Rental has opened locations in Brazil and the island of Curacao, Netherlands Antilles.

The Brazil location serves the Alfonso Pena Airport in Curitiba, Parana. Operations in Fortaleza, Florianapolis and Recife are planned for later this year. A Thrifty representative will meet arriving passengers who provide all flight information as well as customers who use a courtesy phone for shuttle pickup.

Thrifty serves Curacao International Airport from its location at Fokkerweg Z/N, Salinja Willemstad. Arriving passengers can use a courtesy phone.

"South America and the Caribbean are emerging as a major market for Thrifty as more and more international business and leisure travelers look for ways to save money," said Mike Net, Thrifty's executive director for the region. "With the addition of Brazil and Curacao, the door to the South American region is wide open to us."
