Alamo, National Launch Operations in Argentina

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- ANC Rental Corp. announced that its Alamo Rent a Car and National Car Rental brands have launched operations in Argentina.

The launch extends Alamo and National to Latin America's second largest economy, where they will establish locations in five cities -- Buenos Aires, Rosario, Mendoza, Cordoba and Santa Fe.

The facilities will operate through a master franchise agreement with Flotas Comerciales S.R.L., an Argentine conglomerate of Peugot dealerships, hotels and other businesses. Flotas Comerciales has been in the car rental business for more than 10 years.

"This launch moves us a step closer to our goal of having complete coverage throughout Latin America," said Mike Going, ANC's senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. "In addition, we feel the timing is perfect. Our infrastructure will be in place just as the Argentine economy begins the turnaround economists expect."

ANC said the operations will serve key source markets such as Europe, North America and Latin America.
