SAN FRANCISCO -- Discount travel site Hotwire.com has hired Brenda Barnes as vice president of air and car rental operations. In the newly created position, Barnes will oversee partner relations and lead Hotwire's air, rental car and global distribution system operations teams.

"With her broad expertise in revenue management and distribution, Brenda will be a tremendous asset leading Hotwire's relationships with our airline and rental car partners," said Gregg Brockway, chief product officer at Hotwire.com.

Barnes comes to Hotwire with more than 12 years of experience in the airline and hotel industries.
