Dollar Kicks Off 40th Anniversary with Sweepstakes

TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Rent A Car will be awarding a 2006 Dodge Charger to the winner of a sweepstakes celebrating the rental company's 40 years in the industry.

Dollar Rent A Car was founded in Los Angeles in 1965 as "Dollar-A-Day Rent-A-Car" with one location operating six Volkswagen Beetles. Today, Dollar’s worldwide fleet totals more than 85,000 vehicles at 535 locations in 25 countries.

To enter the "40th Anniversary Sweepstakes," customers can either submit an online registration form, mail in a 3x5 card with complete contact information or rent a car from the Dollar between now and Sept. 30, 2005.

Aside from the Charger, one winner will receive a five-day trip to Orlando, which includes airfare, car rental, hotel accommodations and a $500 voucher redeemable at Orlando’s Official Visitor Center for tickets to Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.

Another 40 daily winners will receive 75,000 miles in the Delta SkyMiles program.
