New Car Rental Service Lets Customers Explore Icelandic Wilderness

Car Rental in Iceland ( is offering clients the option of planning their own off-road adventure while receiving customized guide instructions over the phone, if desired.

With the new service, renters get the help of a mountain guide to plan their highland trip and are allowed to set off on their own. They can call the guide personally for advice or directions at any time during the trip.

Iceland is known for its mountain scenery and unspoiled wilderness. The center of the country is uninhabited, and offers travelers views of mountain ranges, waterfalls, glaciers, rivers and lava flows. Much of the countryside is only accessible to 4x4 vehicles. The company’s fleet of vehicles includes Lincoln Navigators, Toyota Land Cruisers and Jeeps with 46-inch tires.

This new partially-guided option is being seen as a way to bridge the gap between a fully-guided tour and the uncertainty of trying to go it on your own, especially in a country know for its rugged landscape and extreme weather.
