Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental, subsidiaries of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. were voted Best Domestic Car Rental Companies by Travel Trade magazine in the publication's first-ever Reader's Choice Awards.

The survey asked readers to vote for their favorite supplier partners. More than 3,000 travel agents from across the country participated from among the magazine's 45,000 readers. The results were revealed in the Dec. 15, 2008 issue of the magazine. The readers who responded offered comments about airlines, car rental companies, hotels, resorts and spas, cruise lines and ships, destinations and theme parks.

"The travel agent community has always been and will always be a vital partner to Dollar Thrifty," said Scott Thompson, president and CEO of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. "The travel agent industry has gone through a number of dramatic changes this past decade, but it has adapted and remains a significant player in the travel industry. The one constant has always been the loyalty of travel agents to our brands. Thank you, travel agents, for this honor."
