Avis Launches Direct Used Car Sales Program

Avis Budget Group Inc. has introduced Avis Direct, a used car sales program for licensed automobile dealers.

With a dedicated website for dealers, this initiative offers them a selection of late-model, off-rental vehicles for purchase from Avis, Budget, Payless and Zipcar — with no enrollment or purchase fees.

"As part of our ongoing strategic priority to drive efficiency throughout the organization, it is critical that we provide alternative distribution channels to dispose of our vehicles,” said Michael Schmidt, senior vice president of fleet services, Avis Budget Group. “After all, maximizing the financial return from our vehicle sales lowers our fleet costs …”

Automobile dealers can now purchase Avis Budget Group vehicles at many of its U.S. locations.
