Affordable Car Hire Wins 2014 Globe Travel Award

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, U.K.-based Affordable Car Hire received a 2014 Globe Travel Award for best car rental company.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, U.K.-based Affordable Car Hire received a 2014 Globe Travel Award for best car rental company, according to a report by the Business Reporter.

“By notching up 10 years in the industry, we really feel we have much to celebrate,” CEO Angela Day told the Business Reporter. “I’m extremely proud of everything we have achieved and I’m looking forward to now building on this success over the coming years.”

Day originally started the business with her husband out of her garage. Over the past 10 years, Affordable Car Hire has become England’s first car rental company to earn ABTA principal membership (a U.K. travel association) and has expanded to more than 15,210 locations worldwide, says the report.

In addition, Affordable Car Hire earned awards for Car Hire Company of the Year at the TTG Travel Awards and Best Trade Website at the Travolution Awards, according to the report.
