Dan Aykroyd Helped James Brown Get Better Deal on Rental Car

Promoting his new film “Get On Up,” Dan Aykroyd tells Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” about a time when he helped James Brown, the godfather of soul, get a better deal on a rental car at a Budget Rent A Car.

According to Aykroyd, he and Bill Murray ran into James Brown when renting a car at a Budget Rent A Car in Los Angeles. Brown asked Aykroyd to help him get a better deal on a Mercedes.

Aykroyd told the rental location’s manager that Brown is like royalty and asked if he could give Brown a break for the rental car. The manager agreed and brought down the price.
