Subaru has begun offering an online tool that allows fleets to search for open recalls using the vehicle identification number through the Carfax used vehicle platform. The service is offered at no cost.
Currently, more than 63 million vehicles with open, unrepaired recalls are in use across the U.S., according to Carfax. People in California, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, and New York have the most vehicles with open recalls.
On Carfax and AutoCheck’s vehicle history reports, the category “Total Loss” is often used for vehicles that are satisfactorily repaired. Is that fair?
