In order to help relief and rescue efforts following last week's explosion in Beirut, ride-hailing app Uber is offering residents free rides, The National reports.

The service will help shuttle volunteers get around the city to help clear debree and look for survivors. It is also a means of transporting residents to protests and to see family.

Uber is also offering free rides to blood donation centers and hospitals.
