Plans for a car sharing pilot program are underway in Minneapolis, Minn., in order to reduce car ownership, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal on Jan. 28.

The Minneapolis Public Works Department is behind the proposal to allow residents to rent a car hourly or daily.

In February, the city hopes to send a request for proposals to find an operator for the pilot program.
