Car Rental Express (CRX), the online car rental distribution network for global and independently owned car rental agencies, has launched its Cross Agency Traffic Program. The booking tool can be accessed through each participating agency's websites.

The company used a California car rental company as an example to describe how the program works. Super Cheap Car Rental, with four locations in the state, can now offer rentals across the country and worldwide through the Cross Agency Traffic Program. This is because on its website, renters have the option of clicking on a drop-down menu in which they can select a rental location outside California.

Super Cheap has pre-selected a list of other car rental agencies they want to refer renters. Upon location selection, renters are redirected to a site powered by Car Rental Express where they complete the booking. Upon completion of the rental, Super Cheap receives a commission for the referral.

"The Cross Agency Traffic Program not only widens our exposure but gives us the appearance of a much bigger company," said Super Cheap's owner Steve Bernard. "The nice thing about that is while the appearance may be bigger, we are still able to give them (renters) the hands-on boutique service that our renters are accustomed to."

CarRentalExpress.com also provides thousands of impartial consumer-based Renter Rated reviews, including comments, for more than 200 car rental agencies. Reviews and comments are submitted by real people who have completed rentals through its site.
