Enterprise UK released a series of questions for companies to consider when it comes to their rental providers on Feb. 27.

With car rental serving as a key component for day-to-day business mobility in the UK, Enterprise recommends companies understand their rental contracts for the best value and service. Businesses should place more emphasis on the planning and analysis of their vehicle requirements during their contract negotiations with rental car companies, Enterprise said.

Other key areas that Enterprise advises businesses to consider are location and delivery charges; rental and transport policies including vehicle limitations for employees; last-minute bookings and high-demand for rentals; duration of rentals; and reporting and management information to fit the company’s needs.

“Organizations need to make sure they drill down into the detail of their vehicle rental needs because they’re turning to rental to support a range of different requirements,” said Rob Ingram, director of business rental at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the UK. “They’re using it as an alternative to pool cars and grey fleet mileage reimbursement, as well as for medium- and long-term solutions, where rental contracts offer excellent flexibility.”
