The British Vehicle Renting and Leasing Association (BVRLA) announced the appointment of a new CEO on March 27. Gerry Keaney will start the new position on May 1.

Keaney began his career at British Leyland and moved to Volvo Cars, where he stayed for 21 years working in senior sales, operations and dealer roles, as well as serving as managing director of Volvo Cars UK between 1996 and 2002.

He was also senior vice president of marketing, sales and customer service at the parent company for nine years.

Current CEO John Lewis will be stepping down after leading the association for 13 years, but will assume a new part-time role as the BVRLA’s director of external affairs, according to the BVRLA.
