In March, Avis Budget Group announced that it had completed its acquisition of Zipcar, the largest car sharing company worldwide and one that had recently turned a profit. The acquisition shows that car sharing is no longer just a green idea – it has entered the mainstream. For those “traditional” car rental companies who aren’t on board, it’s time to understand if car sharing might work for you.

A seminar at the 2013 Car Rental Show, “Car Sharing: Finally Profitable and Unavoidable!” will analyze how car sharing technology is challenging the traditional approach to car rental operations and customer service. The seminar is designed to help car rental operators understand today’s car sharing market and the critical components to profitability, as well as how technology is making car sharing more efficient, convenient, economical and relevant.

The concurrent seminar will be presented by Neil Abrams of Abrams Consulting, Julian Espiritu of Abrams CarSharing Advisors and Tony Simopoulos, president of Metavera Solutions, a technology provider to car sharing and fleet management.

The seminar is scheduled for Monday, April 15 at 3:15pm in Amazon M. The 2013 Car Rental Show takes place April 15-16, 2013 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas. To see the full schedule and to register for the event, go to www.carrentalshow.com.
