FlightCar, a peer-to-peer car sharing company, raised $5.5 million in early-stage venture capital funding, according to a Cincinnati.com report on April 18.
Investors include General Catalyst, Softbank Capital, Airbnb’s CEO Brian Chesky and Ryan Seacrest’s Seacrest Global Group.
FlightCar allows vehicle owners to rent their vehicle to incoming air travelers by posting available days and relevant car information.
FlightCar launched in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 2012 and opened its second location in San Francisco in February 2013. The company plans to expand to Boston and Chicago next.
