To improve its facilities, Louisville International Airport’s rental car facility is set to undergo a major renovation. According to the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, this area of the airport is known as the quick-turn-around facility — where customers pick up and return their rental cars.

Set to begin Sept. 19, the facility’s renovation will include new fuel and vacuum islands, a car wash and greater security measures, according to the Airport Authority. In addition, rental car parking will be increased by more than 50%.

During construction, rental car customers will pick up or drop off their vehicles at the temporary lot on the terminal building’s east side, says the Airport Authority.
