New Zealand-based Omega Rental Cars has released a new talking travel app for its rental customers.

Unlike printed maps and guides, the Omega travel app is regularly updated and can be used offline once downloaded, says the company. Divided into regions, you simply click on the map icons to hear a list of things to see and do in the area. The app will provide information as you approach a point of interest.

“Car rental in New Zealand is very competitive, and we know that staying ahead of the competition means investing in the latest technology to improve the rental experience for our customers,” said Simon Sceats, CEO of Omega Rental Cars. “We launched our mobile website earlier this year and the feedback has been excellent; the new travel app builds on this by providing more added value for our customers who are increasingly tech-savvy.”

The free Omega Travel App is available on both iTunes and Google Play. It is one of Omega Rental Car’s several free accessories, which also include child seats, maps and guides and roadside assistance.
