The Fiji Rental Car Association plans to create a new code of conduct to help members address areas of concern for the Fiji’s rental car industry, according to a report by the Fiji Broadcasting Corp.
Newly-elected President Mohammed Sareem says the industry’s main issues include illegal operators, stamp duty fees and insurance rates, according to the report.
According to Sareem, rental companies need to treat customers right.
“ … You have to be a professional business person, so you need to have some ethic when coming into the industry and that is what we want to propose,” Sareem told Fiji Broadcasting Corp. “The code of conduct should be completed by March and April this year.”
All car rental companies in Fiji are encouraged to contribute their ideas and help determine possible solutions, says the report.
