Enterprise Holdings has purchased OccasionalCar, a Denver-based car-sharing company.

Enterprise Holdings, which operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, also offers Enterprise CarShare, Enterprise Rideshare (a carpooling and vanpooling program) and Zimride, an online ride-matching program.

The acquisition closes today; financial terms of the transaction will not be disclosed, says Enterprise.

“We remain committed to providing sustainable transportation options and are excited to include OccasionalCar members as part of our local network,” said Ryan Johnson, assistant vice president overseeing Enterprise’s CarShare, Rideshare and Zimride operations.

OccasionalCar – which will operate under its current brand through the end of the summer – will be served by Enterprise CarShare, according to Enterprise.

Enterprise has been offering car-sharing services on the University of Denver campus to students and the community since 2011.

Currently, Enterprise CarShare is available on more than 75 university campuses, 40 U.S. government and business campuses and in nearly 20 major markets including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Toronto, says the company.
