Avis Adds 400 Nissan LEAFs to Denmark Fleet

Avis Car Rental has added 400 Nissan LEAFs to its fleet in Denmark, according to a report by EV Fleet World. The vehicles will be offered as mini-leases to businesses in order to raise awareness about electric vehicle technology in Denmark.

Avis hopes the joint venture will give businesses the opportunity to test-drive an electric vehicle without a long-term commitment, according to the report.

The deal is the world’s largest private order for the LEAFs to date, says the report. Additionally, it brings Denmark’s total of electric vehicles in the country to 1,581, nearly double the country’s total electric vehicle sales during 2013.

Vehicles will be available for just over $650 per month for a mini-lease between one and 36 months with charging cables, VAT and insurance included and no deposit required, says the report.
