RelayRides, a peer-to-peer car-sharing company, has revealed a redesign of its iPhone app to make renting cars easier, faster and reliable in time for the summer travel season. The improvements are also expected to accelerate revenue growth, says the company.

“Now that mobile has surpassed desktop as the primary way to access RelayRides, we expect these improvements to our iOS app to further accelerate our growth,” said Andre Haddad, CEO of RelayRides.

The app upgrades include a complete redesign of the member dashboard for owners and renters, streamlined booking, support for committed requests and full international driver on-boarding, says the company. Additionally, international travelers can now sign up and book a rental from the app.

"Over the last six months, we have focused on what has proven to be the best user experience for the peer-to-peer model of car rentals: long duration and travel rentals,” said Haddad. “This shift of focus on rentals over 24 hours and on travelers — who now comprise over half our bookings — has propelled RelayRides to 3x growth in the last year.”

RelayRides is available to 2,100 cities nationally with more than 800 makes and models of cars and trucks, according to the company.
