The U.K.’s car-sharing Co-Wheels has been named as a Social Innovation Pioneer by Deloitte, a corporate consulting company, according to a report by The Herald. Co-Wheels was one of 12 U.K. businesses picked for its social impact. Funding is used to further expand the car-sharing service nationwide, says the report.

"We are really delighted to be selected onto the Pioneers Program,” Co-Wheels Director Richard Falconer told The Herald. “We hope that the program will give our social enterprise access to really powerful resources and the right connections for us to assess new business opportunities in the future within our sector and to use as a platform from which we can grow and expand our social enterprise.”

Located across the U.K., Co-Wheels has a range of car sharing locations — from city centers to smaller communities.
