After a one-year pilot program, the Columbus City Council wants to make car2go’s car-sharing service permanent within the city, according to a report by ABC6 Columbus.

“car2go is a pilot that started and quickly became a fixture of Columbus streets,” Councilwoman Michelle Mills told ABC6.

Mills and the city’s Department of Public Service agree that car-sharing services like car2go help alleviate traffic congestion, says the report.

The new rules allowing car sharing in Columbus will be discussed in the next city council meeting. This new legislation can help bring other car-sharing services to Columbus, according to the report.
