U.K.-based car rental company Green Motion has announced that it will open several locations in the European country of Latvia.

The franchise has been acquired by Mykolas Sabaitis, who also owns Green Motion's master country franchise for Lithuania.

Initially, Green Motion will open five car rentals locations within Latvia, including Riga International Airport, Riga Bus & Train Station, Riga Seaport and Riga Central, says the company.

"I am thoroughly delighted by Mykolas' decision to acquire Green Motion's master country franchise for Latvia,” said Richard Lowden, founder of Green Motion. “Mykolas has done an excellent job for the Green Motion brand in Lithuania and has already built up an excellent reputation for supplying the very best in customer service, and I am confident that he will do the same in Latvia."

Established in 2007 in the U.K., Green Motion is now operating in 15 countries and is recognised as a leading brand in the provision of low carbon-dioxide car rental.
