Autolib Owner Vincent Bollore is looking to expand his electric carsharing service to Los Angeles and Singapore, according to a Bloomberg report. Originating in Paris, the service will debut later this year in London and Indianapolis.

“There is a big demand because of pollution, which is a very important matter everywhere in the world,” Bollore told Bloomberg. “You can’t solve the problem with a very expensive car. What we’ve developed is a very robust and very cheap battery and car, which we have been demonstrating in Paris over four years now.”

Bollore, who owns battery-maker Blue Solutions, started Autolib in 2011 with the Bluecar, which can travel about 150 miles per charge, according to the report. Since then, he expanded his fleet to include a convertible called Bluesummer, which he hopes to bring to Los Angeles.
