A Calgary City Council committee has voted in favor of a parking policy that would limit the number of carshare vehicles allowed to park in metered zones, according to a report by CBC News.
The new parking policy would allow carsharing services to use only 25% of the parking spaces in a metered zone over a month period. If the carsharing company goes over that limit, it will pay the city of Calgary more in fees, says the report.
The carsharing company will be responsible for monitoring the use of parking spots and moving its vehicles. The policy will now go to the city council for a decision, according to the report.
