Survey: Driving Tops Flying for Spring Travel

This spring, two-thirds of travelers are planning to drive to their destinations rather than flying, according to a new survey by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Because of this year’s harsh winter weather, nearly half of the respondents are planning to take a trip this spring.

When looking at men versus women, 71% of male respondents intend to drive versus flying to their spring destinations — compared to 62% of women. For families, those with children are more likely to drive rather than fly (76% compared to 62% of families without children), according to the survey.

To help with spring road trips, Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s $9.99 weekend special will continue through May 18, 2015, at its neighborhood locations. According to the company, customers can use the $9.99 per day rate on economy and compact cars when renting Friday through Monday. The rate includes 300 free miles per weekend.
